ABOUT THE FILM
ALMOST is a psychological thriller inspired by true events. Alaunna Richardson is a high-achieving HBCU-bound student whose choice to cut ties withe her troubled boyfriend sends him down a dangerous path of obsession. While she plans for her future, he can’t seem to let go of the past. Years after their breakup, their lives collide and she is forced to confront a past she thought she had escaped, while he is forced to face the wounds that never healed.
MEET THE FILMMAKERS
Angela Davis is a writer, producer, casting director, and longtime community advocate who has spent more than 25 years writing and directing stage plays. Her film work includes producing four documentary shorts centered on Black history and serving as a producer on Brown Hands, Black Schools HBCUs and Beyond the System: A Journey Through Foster Care.
As a casting director, Angela has helped connect talent to independent film projects including Gracefully Grounded, and Yellow. Her screenplay The Prodigal Mom has received multiple film festival selections.
A summa cum laude graduate of Central State University and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Angela has spent decades serving her community. She is married with two daughters.

Okema T. Moore is an Emmy-nominated, PGA producer, writer, and director whose work spans television, film, branded content, and digital media. She has created content with UTA Beauty, OWN, Netflix, BET, Disney/Marvel, and more.
In 2024 and 2025, Okema wrote and produced the EBONY Power 100 Awards and served as lead producer on the Oscar-qualified, NAACP Image Award-nominated short Chocolate with Sprinkles. Her directing work has earned recognition from the American Black Film Festival for the short film Laundry, and her unscripted credits include Netflix, OWN, BET, Marvel/Disney, and STARZ.
Okema serves on the board of NYWIFT and is a member of the Alliance of Women Directors, the New York Television Academy, and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
